CitNOW is a digital leader in automotive customer communications, providing a suite of video applications that transform the car buying and ownership experience for dealerships. Following its acquisition by Tenzing Private Equity, the business set its sights on international expansion, stronger sales growth and new product development. To support these ambitions and prepare for a successful future exit, CitNOW engaged Palladium to define a technology value creation plan that would underpin its next phase of growth.
THE CHALLENGE
Post-acquisition, CitNOW needed to translate its growth ambitions into a credible, investable narrative — one that would satisfy future acquirers while providing internal alignment around priorities. The technology architecture carried key person dependencies and had gaps in product methodology and testing approach that needed to be addressed before the business could confidently scale. Without a clear plan covering both the exit story and the technical remediation required to support it, the path to a successful exit within the target window was uncertain.
OUR APPROACH
Palladium conducted in-depth workshops and interviews with CitNOW’s leadership and board to develop an exit strategy aligned with the company’s vision and objectives. This produced a framework of goals, milestones and a compelling investor narrative, creating unified direction across the business. In parallel, Palladium conducted a deep dive into the technology architecture, identifying risks and defining a prioritised delivery plan covering recommended architecture improvements, key person dependency, product methodology and testing approach — with methods, timescales, cost impacts and risks clearly articulated for each.
