idhl Group is the UK’s leading marketing agency group, operating across performance marketing, web and ecommerce. With an active acquisition strategy bringing new brands into the group, service delivery was increasingly inconsistent across teams. The business wanted to understand how AI could be used to improve profit margins, drive organic growth and support seamless brand integration — and to build a compelling investment narrative around that capability. Palladium was engaged to pinpoint operational, technological and data opportunities across the group.
THE CHALLENGE
The acquisitive nature of idhl’s growth model had created a patchwork of delivery approaches. Inconsistency across teams made it harder to capture margin, and the business lacked a structured view of where AI could add tangible value as opposed to where it could only add complexity. Identifying the right opportunities required a rigorous assessment of the value chain, technology infrastructure and gaps in capability — not a list of use cases generated in isolation.
OUR APPROACH
Palladium conducted a comprehensive assessment across idhl’s value chain and technology infrastructure, producing a detailed report on findings and recommendations. Trends from adjacent industries were analysed to contextualise the opportunity. The team identified four group-level enablement opportunities and eighteen service-level opportunities, spanning data-driven intelligence, customer engagement optimisation, streamlined operations and enhanced service delivery. Opportunities were prioritised by projected effort and value add, preparing the business for solution design and implementation.
